Inverted Pleat Curtains – Gympie

Inverted Pleat / Reverse Pinch / Box Pleat Curtains

Contemporary or modern interior design is all about clean, sleek lines and simplicity. To achieve this minimalist look, one way to dress your windows is with made-to-measure curtains with an inverted pleat heading.

Inverted pleat curtains have the pleats (the folds in the fabric) on the back of the curtain instead of the front. This gives the curtain a smooth, flat front. A flap of fabric covers the pleats called the facing.

Modern interiors often use inverted pleat curtains because they have a clean, streamlined look. They can be hung on decorative tracks or under a valance or cornice. A valance is a short piece of fabric hung over the top of the curtain to hide the curtain rod and hardware. A cornice is a decorative box that is mounted above the curtain track.

How inverted pleat curtains are displayed can change the room’s overall look. For example, hanging them on sleek tracks can create a more formal look, while hanging them under a valance or cornice can create a more casual look.
